cool luxe cover up: demin jacket
Strolling the chic streets of London to Selfridges yesterday in skinny jeans, a white tank paired with a denim jacket I randomly picked out of my closet I thought silently to myself “I don’t wear denim jackets ever but this looks good. I should blog about it” Not long after I spotted stylish Londoners in playsuits, harem pants and maxi skirts all covered up in a denim jacket! It was a clear indication that our summer wardrobe should include a denim jacket which I’ve dubbed the cool luxe cover-up!

Long dress style
Regular readers know that we're fans of the long-length look when it comes to summer skirts and dresses. While the more body-conscious lines of that trend are suited to a monochromatic style, today's maxi dresses allow for a little more expression.First off, we'd like to encourage people to go for short dress during the day. Collectively, we tend to think of long dresses as a night look, so there's something unexpected about wearing a bright, patterned, long frock while the sun shines. Since you've got lots of fabric to work with, we suggest selecting a smaller print-save the bigger, bolder ones for your minis.
One of our favorite examples of the maxi dress is seen here on Joy Bryant (above, far right). She's wearing J.Crew's Talitha patchwork cotton dress, inspired by 60's style icon Talitha Getty (The limited edition item has cross-back straps and is also available in white or tangerine linen
Some other options include Topshop's Embroidered Hem Maxi Dress in cream cotton, which looks like the perfect item for a sticky, hot day We're also besotted with Tibi's silk jersey, Constantine Strapless Maxi Dress in a pink and white floral print Finally, there's Juicy's Long Halter Dress, it reminds us just a smidge of the dress Nicole has on above, right?
Minimal effort and maximum effect-this trend is perfect for the summer!
The art of make-up!
Do you know which make up essentials should you have with you in your bag all the time? Here are some tips and a list of all the make-up essentials that you must have!
FACE
All women need to have the basic essentials for their face such as a foundation matching your skin tone, concealer, face powder and a moisturizer. Start off by applying a little foundation at a time so it doesn't look over done. Before applying the base, applying a little concealer will help hide your dark circles, acne and spots. Apply to your face using a sponge and blend thoroughly!
EYE
EYE
There is a whole lot that you can do when it comes to eye make up. A normal eye make up requires an eye liner and a mascara. However, different eye shades and eye pencils can be used to further enhance your features.
CHEEKS
A blush gives a fresh look to your face. Use a dense brush to apply it on the apples of your cheeks!

Your lip color finalizes your look. For the lips, use a chap-stick for a more natural feel. For those who wear lipstick, adding a coat of lip gloss on top of it can add more glow to your face. Remember! Your lip color should match the color of of your blush.

Fashion trends in different era's
Fashion has constantly been changing with time. Sometimes new trends come on the front and sometimes its the previous one's reverting back. Here is a review of the changing fashion trends over the century:
1920s..
During the 20s, fashion, particularly women's fashion, went through a prominent change. With the end of world war 1, women became more liberal. Although a lot of people continued wearing the conservative dresses with tightly fitted corsets, many younger women now made sportswear and loose-fitting clothing as a part of the post-war fashion. 20s fashion featured short skirts and dropped waistlines. Women bobbed their hair short to fit them under the popular hats and therefore embraced clothing for an increasingly active lifestyle.

1930s..
During the 30s, the feminine quality returned back to women fashion. The waistlines became more curved and the bust became more rounded accentuating the female silhouette. Empire-waist gowns became more popular. Fabric flowers and bows were often placed on the shoulders,mid-waist or center neckline.
1940s..
The basic idea of the 1940s clothing was utilization. With the advent of World War 2, the women rolled up their sleeves and knuckled down to work while their men fought overseas. Restriction orders outlawed any wasteful cutting and excess trimmings. The women used a mix and match formula for their wardrobes. Hence the 40s fashion was anything simple, economical and cost-effective.

The teenagers were the driving force behind fashion during the 1950s. Previously teenagers only followed adult fashion but during this era teenagers had increased buying power. During this era, both sexes became more fashion conscious. Young men wore high-waisted trousers, long jackets slim ties and large, shiny pointed shoes while young women wore tightly fitted blouse tucked into calf-length trousers called 'Capri' pants.

1960s..
1960s saw the appearance of mini-skirts. While the clothing in 1960s was youth-driven, the clothing styles and fabrics were inspired by non-Western cultures. Natural fabrics,tie-dyed and paisley prints were also popular. During the 1960s, the 'Hippie movement' was started by the teenagers. The idea behind this was to express the freedom in the way they dressed, which indirectly reflected their thoughts, attitude, ideas and way of life.

70s.. The DISCO era
The 70s saw the dawn of disco fashion. The huge success of the movie Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta, popularized the disco fashion of the 70s. Lycra hot pants ruled the 70s disco fashion. Light reflecting satin jackets and all that can be flashy such as flashy bracelets were one of the hottest trends of the disco fashion. Platform shoes with sole often 2-4 inches thick also appeared on the fashion scene and were worn by both men and women.

90s and beyond..
The 1990s saw the emergence of many fashion trends from the previous decades. Hence it is known as the mash-up decade. However, the fashion of the 90s has many prominent features including the adoption of tattoes and body piercing trend. The 1990s popularized the casual 'chic' look including hoodies, t-shirts and jeans.
Today due to high competition amongst designers all around the world, they are constantly trying to come up with something new. Nevertheless, the fashion being followed around the world today, does have a hint of trends from the previous decades.

IT BAG
It bag is a colloquial term from the fashion industry used to describe a brand or type of high priced designer handbag by makers such as Hermes that becomes a popular best seller.
Hermes 'Birkin'
The Birkin has been called the ‘perfect' bag, i.e. once you get one you never want another. Er, is that handbag or Birkin? Victoria Beckham is rather fabulously rumoured to have a room full in every colour. Traditionally low in supply and high in demand you have to wait eight months to six-years for one of these. The story goes, the actress Jane Birkin sat next to Hermes chief exec Jean-Louis Dumas on a Paris to London flight in 1984 and was whinging on about how she couldn't find a decent, chic, weekend bag. He obliged and put her name to it.
Balenciaga 'Lariat
Mulberry 'Bayswater'
The flashy Roxanne (or ‘Roxy' as it was called by devotees), lucked out to the less in-your-face, Bayswater (neé 2004), also pioneered by Mulberry's former director Nicholas Knightly, which has emerged as the true bag icon. Stripped of all excess (pockets, rivets, tassles, chains etc), the plain sheet-music style carrier so beloved of Mossy and many more style gurus, is both classy, timeless and classic. But this is not the era to go miniminalist. Proving it can be versatile when required, this season the Bayswater is rolled out in exotic fabrics from shocking pink ostrich (for around £2,000) to sleek bronze mirror metallic for a seasonal look, as well as those gorgeous, very British classic shades mulberry is renown for. This bag is the sort that allows people to communicate without uttering a word. It can be used to impress or rebel, to fit in or stand out. A luxury bag equivalent of a Converse trainer

Easy dressing for Men - shirts
Think before you wear.....
Some guys just buy their shirts in small, medium, or large. No wonder they don't fit so well. You should know your measurements—neck size and arm length—and not just for the sake of it. These numbers are the key to making you look better. If your collar is so loose it hangs off your neck, or so tight it makes your face blush, you're stuck with it. So take action—get measured.
Tell you more..... The One-Finger Rule
Make sure you can comfortably fit one finger between the collar and your neck. If two fingers fit, the collar's too big.
Easy dressing for Men - watch

We understand perfectly well that the phone in your pocket tells the time.
That's cool and all, but we still think you should strap on a watch.
A watch is the one piece of man jewelry that we can fully get behind.
Not only does it punctuate an outfit; it also says something about who you are or, at least, who you aspire to be.
So forget about technological advances for a moment.
Think of a watch as you would a tie: Who cares if it's not purely functional?
It still plays an integral role in what it means to be a man.
But your watch doesn't need to be encrusted
with diamonds, or have sixteen dials..
Just choose what you like to wear......
Simple... but working! right?

What kind of shoes should I wear??
what kind of shoes should I wear?
The one shoe every man should own is a black lace-up.
You can dress it up or dress it down; it'll work with everything from jeans to suits.
And that's the thing—don't think of it as special-occasion footwear.
Avoid frilly or ornate details and you'll be able to wear the shoes as easily to the office as to the club.

WHAT MEN AND WOMEN SHOULD NEVER WEAR ON A DATE
When going on a date, there are certain things that are a total turnoff. It could be the way you eat, what you're eating or just any simple thing that can completely change the way your date feels or thinks about you. The most important thing on a date is what you're wearing. YES!!! its the most important thing and i'll repeat over and over again. You dont want to turn up on a date wearing jeans and a t-shirt when everyone is suited up. It does not only embarrass you but also embarrasses your date so keep in mind that your dress code defines you!
3) Not everyone can pull off man jewellery. Sometimes it can make you look like a woman or just incomplete. If you wear men jewellery, make sure the pendant does not look girlish. Make sure it has mascularity written all over it. It may be a cross, or a peace sign, just make sure its not a flower or a dove.
4) Make sure your hair looks good. If you like putting gel and styling up your hair, make sure its not too visible. And don't put on mascara, leave that to your date.
1) Too much make up is very unnecessary and makes you look like you're wearing another face. Spending time putting layers and layers of make up for no good reason is not worth it. Keep it simple and pretty. Not too much eyeliner or too much lipstick, just a little of almost everything is about enough. Also, do not show up on your date with a confused hairstyle. You're a woman, style your hair and make sure you look your best and smell good.
2) Do not wear your older sisters dress just because its pretty but if you do,make sure it fits because a big dress does not show off your sex appeal. Also, make sure you're wearing the right bra for the right dress. if it is a strapless dress, make sure you're wearing a strapless bra, or perhaps look for colourless straps if need be.
3) Shoes is an important aspect of a woman's dress code. Shoes bring out your whole outfit. Do not wear sandals just because you cannot walk in heels. At least practice walking in heels a while before your date, or look for lady like shoes that are comfortable and match your dress. Perhaps look for stylish pumps shoes to make you look even sexier than you already are.
What men should never wear!
- Rule number one: DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT wear sandals or flip flops when going on a date. Unless you're going to the beach and really need flip flops or have a wound on your foot that cannot allow you to wear proper shoes,do not ever wear flip flops when going for a date. It is simply embarrassing. Perhaps look for nice gentle shoes that match your outfit.
2) Don't look too dressed. By too dressed i mean, don't put on a tie unless
you're coming from work and didn't have time to change for a casual date. Unless your date is at a ballroom function, do not go over the edge with your dress code. Yes,women do appreciate men in texedos but keep it simple and good.

WINTER FASHION TRENDS!
Its already half way through winter but we know there are some of you still wondering, do i look good?, is this jacket getting old?, how do i keep myself warm and still look elegant? Well you should be glad you came across our blog because here you're going to find great tips on how to keep classy in winter. The right outfits designed to keep you warm but still look sexy, classy and elegant.
For the ladies...
Choosing the right trench coat for your outfit may save your look for the day. A trench coat with many buttons can bring out the style in you. Trench coats are one of the best ways to bring out the style credit, whether long or short, big collars or small collars, they always have an impact on your dress code.
Choose a colour that will bring out your outfit. If you're wearing grey, black or any other dull colour dress/pants,its always best to wear a light coloured trench coat. A khaki stylish trench coat would be best or a white trench coat. Red would also be great if you are a person with a free spirit. Sometimes showing off colours makes you look fancy.
For the men...
Wearing clothes that don't match your trench coat can spoil your outfit. A simple white shirt and checked sweater could bring out the style credit.
Red,blue, purple or pink coloured ties could look pretty good with a white or black shirt. Wearing a checked or coloured scarf instead of a tie can also be a good way of styling up your winter dress code. Remember to make sure your colours coordinate, if your clothes are dark a light coloured jacket would be best to wear. When wearing lighter clothes, a darker jacket will be the best fit!
